4 Men aginest one Woman

Today's story, real life story ,from the back of my taxi, being told to me by 60 years old woman, with lots of white hair. When she start talking, I had to listen to her, because she had tears coming over her face, and I didn't want to discomfort her, after all I'm just here, as a taxi driver, it is like a therapy listening session for 20 minutes. So I offered her tissue box, and I said to her don't cry, life will always give you a second chance, and tomorrow we have a bright new sunshine day, it's summer time now in UK, and then new year always bring new hope. She said to me, “actually today is the last day of Ramadan, it's a very special day for Muslim people, because tomorrow is Aid, which is a festival same as Christmas time for Christian community, to do charity, to spread love, and stop hate. I said to her, do you mind if I ask, if I can offer you any help, she said how could you help someone like me, when four men stand against one woman?.  I said to her Are you sure I cannot help?!, maybe if you tell me the story, at least I could comfort you, and what do you mean by 4 men against one woman? If may I ask ? then she start speaking with tears coming out of her eyes, and she still had the tissue box in her hand. She said, I have divorced my husband two years ago, and in last June 2024, my father-in-law, my husband, my son, and my landlord, decided they have the absolute right, just to put me in the street.  I lost my source of income in April 2024, I tried to get any source of income, but it's very hard in my age, to find a job, it's too late, anyway for someone to search and be successful. I didn't give up, I applied for undergraduate student loan, and I start study to build my CV, so I could get a job. I said to her, hold on a minute, you saying, your father-in-law, your husband, your son, and your landlord, decide to put you in the street??, she said yes, I couldn't afford to pay my rent anymore, I wasn't allowed to rent A room, because the law says, or the landlord says, it's subletting, and you are not allowed  to rent any room, to help yourself with paying monthly rent, also in February 24 he decided to raise the rent, £300, as his mortgage gone up. he's a businessman, and he need to look after his family business, the problem is I couldn't keep the payment, so I fall in a rent arrears, and he took a court eviction order, which happened on the 7th of March 2025, and here I am in the street, without even a suitcase, you saying, you didn't take your personal belonging from the house??, as I mentioned I survive on the student loan, because I couldn't get a job, so technically I had 0 balance in my bank, I try to apply for a student advance, or take my payment early, which is coming in April, but the student finance team advised me, that is not my best interest to get the loan early, because I will have more hardship in the following semester, so here I am sitting in the back of my car, -3 temperature at night, no food, no money, and I couldn't get any sympathy from my landlord, I called my son, I tried to text my husband, well technically ex-husband.  25 years of my life, I gave  him, and my son, and my daughter, but they moved away 180 miles from my town, and I was not allowed, to have their address, only occasionally, my son is allowed by his dad, to answer my phone calls, so I said to my son I need £723 to pay for a van removal, or the same amount, technically just to buy a van and work as a delivery driver, so he said, my dad said where do you think we will have 723 from?, we don't have that money. I said to my son, it is -3, and I am cold ,and I am in the street, he said, there must be surely, someone will help you to get a place to stay!!!, technically, I had applied for affordable housing, with my council,24 months ago, when my husband, and my two children left, but I wasn't allowed to have affordable housing, because the priority is for pregnant women, disabled, or a carer, and I'm not pregnant, and I'm not disabled, I'm not a carer, so I had to wait in my car, begging the landlord to allow me to arrange for van removal, as im not able, he used to come to the address every day telling me you stupid ******* cow you should have gone and **** men and pay your rent, also he called the police, and said I'm harassing him ,asking him to use the toilet ,or get my personal belongings, so the police intermediate, he booked appointment for me to collect everything,  one of the neighbours, felt sorry for me, he gave me his van, to collect my belongings . I came next day , I met the officers, two nice young men, one of them was really kind to me, he looked like my son, as his eye, and his hair, or maybe that's how I felt, because I missed my son, as I didn't see him for 13 months, only his father sent him to the house when he wanted to collect some letters, or belonging. the other officer was a little bit hard, but in the end , I tried to win his heart, and he helped me to put some belongings in the van, and to take a reading, for gas, electricity, water, to end my contract with the three companies. it was very hard confrontation, because I didn't know what to take from the house, I should have been more concentrated on my university work, and university ID ,but all I wanted is just to take a bed and a mattress, because I have been sleeping in the floor, in the van for three weeks, the officer allowed me to bring a bigger van  removal company, two days after that, but I couldn't pay for removal company, because I didn't have any money, I finished all my money during the time, waiting for the next student loan payment ,when I missed the appointment, the Landlord decide to empty the house, I do realise I owe him rent arrears, which eventually will be paid in court, when I get a job, my next court date is 26th of February, but yes he took all my personal belonging, and empty the house, children pictures, graduations certificates, university work ,even my clothes. I don't think he realise what's the fridge mean to me, I bought it for my daughter, because she liked see food in the fridge, I don't think he realise what's a 15 years old DVD, mean to me, I used to watch Nimo, and Lion King, with my son in the DVD player. I know it's old ,maybe it's a cash converter shop will not give you £20 for it , but it did mean something to me, I couldn't collect memories, pictures, everything was packed in boxes, ready to go. I just couldn't pay for the van. I begged the landlord to allow me, just to take my personal belonging ,or clothes ,my children clothes, is my daughter shoes, everything I had in this house for 11 years ,was a piece of me. I even had a toilet seat, with a picture of Nimo, it doesn't mean a lot to the landlord, but it meant something to me, because it's the only animation, I used to watch with my son in the weekend , used to work 60 hours a week, and not producing enough money , to make everyone happy ,so I had another confrontation, one week after that, and the officer was very clear to me, he said you are not allowed to call the landlord, or asking him to get any personal belonging, because nothing there. He said, I went to the house and the house is empty, so I said to him but this is wrong, even if I owe the landlord money, I should be allowed to pick up my personal belongings,  my debit card, my university ID ,my clothes, at least, give me my children pictures, if he want to keep,  my cutlery, kitchen pots , which mean nothing to him , but it's 10 years of my life ,I worked hard to buy this kitchen pots,  the officer said you don't have a proof, there is no pictures, and even if you try to ask for this back, the landlord claim that you took everything.  I said to him I have an officer number 15569, he didn't give me a name but he had a camera in his vest , and it shows, it  is a three bedroom house ,with a dining table, and more than 28 boxes, of kitchen, books, my university study work ,and my children pictures, he even took my fish tank .I know sounds silly, but it just it doesn't bring his money back. You can broke a woman, make her became homeless, but it does not bring your peace to your heart, The landlord used to tell me he's a vegetarian, he said to me, you Muslim people, eat animals. But I’m 100% vegetarian, I wonder, when he look in the mirror , does he see me as a an animal ??!! does he have any compassion to me?, as a human being . I don't think so ,he's just sad about his money, in the mean time, the officer said to me, technically, or morally, it is up him to keep your items , but he claims, you took everything, there is nothing much we can do, then he saw footages, from the previous visit, and he said yeah, there was stuff in the house, but he said, you took it all, so I walked back in the street where my car parked , and I sat in the back of it, thinking why would someone do that to someone, just for money, he can keep the dining table, and the cooker, and dishwasher, but why he need to keep my clothes, and my personal belonging, it doesn't mean anything to him, but it means a lot to me, so after she finished speaking , I find myself crying, I thought life sometimes is hard on homeless people, technically I didn't know why people become homeless, this woman teaching me a lesson of brave young, old woman, she is young in her heart, and she's old in her age, she's trying to study to get career, and try to survive, even everything around her, is against her, no one is there to hold her hand, she has no family, her son, her daughter ,her husband, decided  after 20 years, we have had enough from our mother, or wife ,and we don't need her anymore , she's not producing anything for us.

 I wonder for all my readers, if you had a dog, or a cat ,who made you happy four years then they become old or ill , he couldn't make you happy anymore, he couldn't perform in the bedroom, or in the kitchen, do you put that dog in the street? I don't think so, technically that woman was valued less animal, and she's being put in the street, and her son, and daughter , and  husband didn't think how could she survive, in the back of her car .oh I remember now, she said, her son give her £150 to pay for her car insurance, she said to him but I don't have money for food, that's what I can give you . I don't have any more, so maybe he still remember his mom, maybe life sometimes can be hard ,but I would not put my dog in the street when he is old ,and he doesn't make me happy anymore, it's just wrong because the dog will die in the street because it's too cold,
